Max Fleishman

Max Fleishman left Ostrowiec around 1920 and got to the USA. He was like many ,  trying to avoid being taken to the Polish Army. He left his parents and two sisters behind. He never saw his father again.

The two sisters were saved from the Shoah as my grandfather sent money to get them out. They ended up in Brazil. He didn’t see them for 40 years until in early 1960 ,when my grandma died he traveled to Brazil with his son to meet the family.

There was a huge family there waiting with open arms and as far as they were concerned my grandfather was a hero. He had continuously sent money to them prior to the reunion and because of him they all survived.
